Easy Keto Beef and Broccoli with Cheese
This Low Carb Beef and Broccoli dish is great for a quick weeknight dinner. This isn’t the Chinese Beef Broccoli dish, this one is made with ground beef, Italian season and melted cheese. . . sort of a beef and broccoli casserole minus the rice.
Ingredients Needed For Beef + Broccoli (screenshot for grocery list)
- 1 Lb Ground Beef
- Fresh Broccoli
- Dried Italian Season
- Colby-Jack Cheese
- Crushed Red Peppers
Can You Use Frozen Broccoli For Beef and Broccoli
Yes, in a pinch you can use frozen broccoli. Instead of cooking it after the ground beef, thaw the broccoli in the microwave then remove as much liquid as possible. Add broccoli to all other prepared ingredients and cook 2-3 minutes before topping with cheese.
Fresh is best as far as flavor and texture. But frozen will work if that’s what you have on hand.
How To Make Cheesy Ground Beef and Broccoli
- In large 5 qt pot, season ground beef with salt and pepper then brown. Drain and set aside.
- Increase heat to medium/high. Add oil to pan.
- Add broccoli to pan. Cook and stir until broccoli is almost tender. Drain any liquid if necessary.
- Add garlic, Italian season and return ground beef to pot. Cook and stir 2 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat, top with shredded cheese and cover.
- Once cheese has melted, top with parsley and red pepper flakes.
